The ‘Reforming aged care in Australia’ booklet was recently published (March 2023) by the Department of Health and Aged Care. The booklet is aimed at older people and their families. It features stories showing how older people are impacted by the aged care reforms, along with explainer information about the specific reforms mentioned in the stories and information on how to engage with the reforms.

Changes to Aged Care
The Australian Government is making changes to the aged care system in response
to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety
(Royal Commission).
These changes – known as the aged care reforms – will improve aged care in
Australia for all.
