Australian geat2GO

Australian geat2GO is an Australian Government initiative under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). It allows older people to access helpful devices and equipment to continue living independently and make daily tasks easier.

Indigo is the national Goods Equipment and Assistive Technology (GEAT) provider, offering more choice and opportunity to deliver assistive technology (devices and equipment) items to older people.

This helps to close GEAT service gaps, reduces wait time (where an Occupational Therapist assessment is not required) and gives health professionals more options for sourcing items.

How do I access items funded through GEAT?

  1. You need to be registered for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services through My Aged Care
  2. You will have an assessment with one of the Regional Assessment Services and they will refer to you to the GEAT program.
  3. If you are eligible for CHSP, you could receive different helpful devices and pieces of equipment each year, to help you stay independent and make daily activities easier.

What if I already have a GEAT referral code?
