Members of the Carer Connect Network came together yesterday morning to begin work on strengthening how we communicate and connect with carers across the South West.
Caring for someone else often means putting your own needs to one side. Over time, that can take a toll — on your energy, your wellbeing, and your ability to keep going in the ways you want to. This short video has been created with you in mind.
Navigating and accessing services essential to support the role of unpaid cares can present a huge challenge amplified by living in a rural community, limitations on time and overwhelming amount and nature of information.
In February, unpaid carers from across South West Victoria came together for a vibrant and engaging CareFoot Bowls event at the Warrnambool City Bowls Club facilitated through Carer Connect. Designed to bring carers together, the event created a welcoming space for connection, shared experiences and a well-deserved opportunity to relax and have fun.
